Columbia crew

The Astronomical Society of the Pacific sends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the Columbia astronauts and to the whole NASA family. We take consolation in the fact that they were following their passion; they were explorers on behalf of NASA, the United States, and all mankind. We believe they would have wholeheartedly agreed with these words by Mark Twain:

Twenty years from now
You will be more disappointed
by the things you didn't do
than by the ones you did.

So throw off the bowlines
Sail away from the safe harbor
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
