Mercury Magazine Vol. 23 No. 6
The Missing Issue

Important Notice to Readers and Librarians

Mercury is moving to a new system for cover dates. Currently, Mercury's cover date indicates when the ASP prepares the issue. On other journals, the cover date indicates when the subscriber receives the issue. Readers have complained that Mercury's cryptic date system causes confusion by needlessly giving the impression that each issue arrives late.

The transition to the new date system means that issue 5 is the last issue of volume 23. That issue will arrive in early November with a cover date of September/October 1994. Issue 1 of volume 24 will arrive in early January with a cover date of January/February 1995. The change to the new system will not affect the number of issues that subscribers receive.
